Our Mission
The Gulf States Renewable Energy Industries Association (GSREIA) represents renewable energy and energy storage firms throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama in matters of policy, regulation, and public relations. GSREIA is a non-profit, open-membership trade association with an elected board and officers, advocating to benefit the region's economy and environment.
Our Goals
Renewable energy and energy storage is not just a multi-billion dollar business in the United States. It is an energy solution that provides clean, reliable electricity, increases consumer choice, and helps homeowners and business owners save money on their utility bills. GSREIA works hard to ensure that our members strive to protect consumers, expands clean energy access to all communities, and promotes a diverse and growing workforce.
Advocacy
GSREIA is the driving force behind renewable energy and energy storage, and is building a strong industry to power the Gulf States Region through advocacy and education. We represent all organizations that promote, manufacture, install and support the development of renewable energy. GSREIA works with its member companies to build jobs and diversity, champion the use of cost-competitive solar in the Gulf States, remove market barriers and educate the public on the benefits of clean energy.
economic Development
Currently, total solar and wind investment in the State of Louisiana and in Mississippi comes to close to $2 Billion each, producing jobs and revenue for Gulf States.
Education
The renewable energy industry is one of the fastest areas of job growth in America today, offering career opportunities to all education and experience levels. GSREIA leads major initiatives and conducts research to support a strong and diverse workforce.
Consumer protection
GSREIA works to ensure that consumer protection is at the forefront of the industry. We are developing resources designed to safeguard customer rights, providing a forum for members of the press, governments and other stakeholders to access materials relevant to consumer protection, and establishing pro-competitive guidelines for the solar industry to enhance consumer protection.
